new mission
Now that I feel a lot more comfortable with living in Paris, I’ve decided I’m going to try really really hard to do something new everyday. Whether it’s trying a new food, wandering somewhere different or exploring a new museum, I want to make the most of my time left here (which is still over 6 weeks, but still)
So I’m going to try to continually edit this post...
Oui! Yes! Si! Vale!
What an amazing trip!! This past weekend, I headed to Barcelona, Spain with Katie and Caroline to see our friends who are in the Chicago program there. We got there midday on Friday and started exploring immediately. Since apparently Spainards are really up on walking, we adventured around the area near my friends’ dorm (La Residenca Onix). Within 5 minutes, we were right at the Spanish...
Parisian life
Now that I’ve been living in Paris for almost 2 weeks, there are a lot of things to recap and jot down about my time here.
On arrival via the Eurostar from London, I got into Gare du Nord in the early evening. Exhausted and culture shocked to the max, I quickly threw my oversized bags off the train and wandered around until I found the taxi queue. Such lines are apparently the only way to...
Bonjour!
So I’ve been in France for about 4 days now and I have to say, I’m doing a lot more than I realized. Apart from going to and from my classes (the UC center is about 20-30 min ride on the train from my dorm, Cite Internationale, and doing hundred of pages of reading (The Prince, Oration on the Dignity of Man, Gargantua, to name a few), here are a few of the things I’ve...

Hello London!
Just arrived in London a few hours ago! My 110 lbs of luggage has been manageable so far.. we’ll see how it goes on the train to Paris. I’m currently eating lunch with friends and going to a English supermarket to get ready for the NYE party.
Later the same day: we went pub hopping tonight, 5 pubs in 4 hours. I got to try 4 different authentic British beers along with a pear cider. I...

and so it almost begins...
ONE WEEK! Until I begin what will most likely be the biggest, most exciting, most terrifying and most memorable experience of my life. Just an hour short of being exactly 1 week, I’m sitting thinking about all the things I still need to do, and get, and the people I need to see.
But, I’m also excitedly skimming over the “Little Black Book of Paris” (gift from my mom) and...
christmastime is here
I’m done with school for the quarter, mostly moved out of my apartment and counting down the days til Christmas Eve, which, let’s face it-it’s so much better than Christmas Day. Did I mention how much I love being the only kid home when my mom starts making her famous Christmas cookies? Today was the almond crescents-I almost died.
I’m grateful for anything that reminds me of what’s possible in this life. Books...

finals week =[
my blog is all over the place. wahhh. haha but I guess for now it’s a great reflection of my life. I’ll be done with finals in less than 24 hours and then exactly 3 weeks later I’ll be headed to Europe for what I’m hoping will be one of the best adventures of my life. it’s gonna be scary, for sure, but it also holds a lot of promise for wonder and excitement. Living...

remembering dreams
So this morning, in a very light sleep, I had one of the weirdest dreams I’ve had in a very, very long time. To sum it up shortly, I had an infant (it was mine), that I couldn’t ever remember feeding but who seemed generally healthy. After visiting with my family, I went to my bedroom to feed the fussy kid and while arranging the pillows on my bed, the human baby managed to turn into...
